Clean with Science - Not with Chemicals: Powered by Nature
Sanitation professionals, remediation specialist and pest management providers (PMPs) often use the terms “microbes” and “enzymes” interchangeably, but they are not the same. Enzymes are natural chemicals (protiens) produced by microbes to break down organic matter. Microbes themselves are living organisms that continuously produce these enzymes. Different microbial strains generate enzymes that target specific materials like fats, proteins, or carbohydrates.
Enzyme-only products, unless heavily dosed, often provide incomplete digestion. Since enzymes are used up in the process, any remaining organic matter may go untreated. In floor drains, for example, enzyme products can partially break down grease and push it into the sewer, where it can re-solidify and cause blockages. For this reason, some municipalities restrict the use of enzyme or chemical-based products like d-limonene in grease traps and drains, as they tend to only move—not fully digest—waste.
Our microbial products work differently. When applied, the microbial spores activate and multiply, continuously producing enzymes to fully digest grease and organic waste under favorable conditions. Factors like disinfectants or pH changes can affect performance, which is why our products include multiple strains designed to adapt to various environments. With proper use, our solutions avoid partial digestion and emulsification problems.
Unlike enzyme-only products, which can degrade during storage and lose effectiveness, our formulations are highly concentrated and shelf-stable. Once diluted for use, the microbes activate and begin reproducing, allowing them to grow in number and sustain their cleaning action over time—even if some loss occurs in storage.
Once in the product is applied to the contamination the microbes secrete the enzyme that breaks down the hydrocarbon chains (hydrogen / carbon / oxygen). The microbes work independently freeing carbon by digesting the carbon and exhaling carbon dioxide. Once the hydrcarbons are completly digested the microbes die off and the original balance in nature is restored.
